First piece for my animation program acceptance portfolio review! ONLY FIVE MORE PIECES TO GO. Title comes from my inspiration, George Stubbs. I haven't done realism in so long, oh my gosh.

Those of you who were watching, remember my livestream where I couldn't get that first horse painting to work out? And then I spent like ten minutes browsing stock? AND THEN I FOUND THIS GORGEOUS PICTURE

??? So after that a friend came over and while he was working on a fan fiction and I worked on this we watched Return of the King and it was an awesome night because hanging out was fun and I got this done!

I'm really really happy with how it came out. There's a bit I need to clean up around the edges of some places but that's just the fine fine tuning.
This took me about the whole Return of the King and half of the Sting to finish, so I'm kind of proud of how I was able to start and finish this in a night, even though I was up until like four in the morning. XD

I'm glad you found a reference image that worked for you. I really do love how you've colored him and those details look fabulous. I like how the mane turned out and the details in the face. Such a cutie. And I hope everything is going well for you.
